As many of you know, the month of October has been dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness and raising money for research. A company that participates closely with this cause is Lee Jeans. On October 7, Lee Jeans celebrated Lee National Denim Day. LNDD asks you to question yourself on how much you would spend on a pair of jeans and to then donate that money to support Breast Cancer research.
Northwest Health Services always tries to come up with a fun way to support this cause. This year we encouraged a Pink and Denim costume contest among our clinics. The top 3 winners of this contest would accompany us to the Lee National Denim Day celebration at the Power and Light district in Kansas City, MO. Lee always brings in a celebrity representative that has a connection with this awful disease. This year, Mike Rowe, host of Dirty Jobs, was the celebrity speaker. His mother is a breast cancer survivor, and she accompanied him as well.
The highlight of Chrissy’s year came when she got to take her picture with Mike Rowe! What a great time we had and for such a wonderful cause! See our facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/NorthwestHealthServices) for pink and denim costume pictures.
