Ahh, the cool, crisp, and refreshing air! As we head into autumn, remember that this is a wonderful time to enjoy the outdoors. Taking the family out for nature walks to discover fall foliage will invigorate and inspire. (Take allergy meds as needed!) There are almost 50 opportunities each day to work in 30 minutes of activity. If you haven’t discovered St. Joseph’s parkway trail system yet, take advantage of the smooth surface and woodland atmosphere. If you are up to a more challenging adventure, the mountain bike trails offer a feeling of remote wilderness located just off the parkway near Corby Pond or Krug Park.
We all know activity is one of the best ways to reduce insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome. At least one third of us have these conditions! The sooner you get started, the greater the benefit to reduce heart disease and prevent diabetes! The benefit from stress reduction is something we can all use as well!!
